ISAC Ultimate Edible SnowGlobe Competition 20151

DSC_1643FINAL2.jpg

The entire ISAC family is very excited to announce the 2nd Annual ISAC Ultimate Edible SnowGlobe Competition! Last year was our inaugural event, and we were very pleased with all of the beautiful entries that we received. This year we have had many people ask if the competition would be held at our Grand Holiday Open House, and we are pleased to say YES! At our Open House event, November 7-8, 2015, all the SnowGlobes will be on display and guests will be able to vote for their favorites. The theme is Holiday Memories, so try and incorporate some favorite holiday event or tradtiions in your SnowGlobe.

Of course, to have the vote we need to have competitors! We would love to see everyone who attends our Grand Holiday Open House submit an Edible SnowGlobe entry this year. We will have three categories: Children (12 and under), Teen (13-19 years), and Adult (20 and over). First and second place in each category will receive a prize. I know everyone loves prizes, so here is the breakdown:

Children: 1st Place- $25 Toys R Us gift card; 2nd Place- $15 Toys R Us gift card

The rules are pretty much the same as last year. The scene must be 100% edible and fit into the ISAC Ultimate Edible SnowGlobe with the top securely in place. The outside of the globe may be decorated (does not have be edible), and all entries must be dropped off at ISAC between October 31 and November 4, 2015. Judging will be done by the Open House attendees and by Chefs Nicholas Lodge and Joshua John Russell and Master Sugar Artist Sidney Galpern. The winners of both the Competition and the ballot drawing will be announced by me here on the blog on November 12, 2015.

You can find the complete rules and regulations, as well as the registration form here: 2016-Snow-Globe-Entry-Form.pdf. Just click that link and the form will pop up. If you plan on participating, and we certainly hope you do, please be sure to read the rules and regulations carefully. Please mark your calendars for drop off and pick up dates (pick up dates vary for winning and non-winning entries).

I cannot wait to see all the entries we get this year. A lot of you have been asking about the SnowGlobe Competition, so I am really hoping that we get loads of submissions to ooh and ahh over this year at our Grand Holiday Open House. Oh, and you do not have to attend our Open House to compete! Before I sign off I will leave you with some inspiration to get your creative juices flowing! The SnowGlobes below were made by members of the ISAC family.
