The Year of the Cake: 2015 Well, hello there! I’ve really missed writing fun blogs for you all! I did short blogs the last two weeks since both Christmas and New Year’s Day fell on Thursday (my normal publishing day). I love all the readers, but hey- family comes first. With the holidays now behind us, I’m…

  • With Friends like these…

Tremendously Talented Friends! Since this is, in fact, Chef Nicholas Lodge’s blog, I spend a lot of time talking about Chef Nicholas. Today I thought we would take a short break from that, and talk about some of Chef Nicholas’s friends: Marina Sousa, Lauren Kitchens, and Alan Dunn! Each of these cake-decorating extraordinaires are near…

  • Katy Sue Two!

  • All that glitters…

I’m a big fan of sparkly cakes. Wait, let me start over. I’m a big fan of sparkly everything! When Molly (ISAC’s most famous customer service specialist) suggestion writing a blog on edible sequins, I was totally on board! I started by talking to Chef Nicholas about the methods he shares with his students, searched…

  1. I adore Chef Nicholas and think he is the world’s BEST sugar artist! I am old and retired but love to dream and create – it keeps me going! If you are not fortunate enough to be able to attend a class/classes at ISAC – check out Chef’s classes offered on Craftsy dot com. It is like having a private lesson with the master and you can watch the classes over and over as I do.
I would love to see more photos of the student’s progress in the ISAC classes – also some of Chef Nicholas’ judging events (like the gingerbread competition). I know he travels the world and if you post more photos on this blog we can travel along with him virtually! Happy New Year to all of you too.
